Pure Gym Partnership with AXA PPP Healthcare
Pure Gym Partnership with AXA PPP Healthcare, Pure Gym is a no frills gym chain whose mission is to bring world class fitness equipment to users but at an affordable price. It was established in 2008 and in May 2015 acquired its largest rival LA Fitness.
Pure Gym currently has 141 gyms across the UK and plans to open 300 by 2020.
What's the Deal?
In line with its original mission statement it boasts 24/7 opening hours, contract free membership, which can cost as little as £10.99 pcm. It is also keen to stress that it doesn’t offer gyms with cafes, saunas and steam rooms but it does offer gyms with a great range of classes and fitness equipment.
It has now made an inroad into the corporate wellness market with a deal with AXA PPP where AXA employees will get half price 12 month gym memberships as will AXA’s corporate clients. This is all part of Pure Gyms mission to get more people fit, whatever their financial means, but for AXA it also allows employees to take preventative action against a range of diseases that can be related to exercise and lifestyle.
Some have expressed surprise at the partnership between a budget gym and a private medical provider but both parties have been keen to show that money can be a barrier to wellbeing at all levels. The view is that the partnership is a real win win for both parties, but not least for AXA’s 10,500 UK employees.
