Ski Ergs
A "go to" for functional fitness, CrossFitters, Nordic skiing and even winter sport training, Ski Ergs offer a powerful upper-body workout that's low-impact but targets core and arms also. Building strength and stamina, this is functional fitness training at it's best. Whether you use for a warm-up, intervals or for a longer stamina-based cardio workout, a high-quality skiing erg can deliver every workout.
The original prototype of the SkiErg was constructed in 1982, the brainchild of brothers Dick and Pete Dreissigacker. Its purpose was to allow rower’s to train in the off-season. Fast forward to June 2009, and the Skiing Erg was introduced by Concept2, becoming popular not just with cross-country skiers, but also with gym-goers and athletes alike. With the launch of HYROX in 2017, its popularity has only increased.
Primarily a cardio machine, the Ski Erg allows the user to engage the large muscle groups, both upper and lower body. The muscles used can be separated by each stage of the skiing movement, the start, the pull and the finish. Primary muscles listed by Concept2 include triceps, calves, hip flexors and abdominal muscles. This skiing machine is low-impact too.
Here at GymEquipment.co.uk, we offer 2 key skiing machines, the Attack Fitness Ski Machine, and the Half Human Air Ski Machine with Floor Stand. e can also provide the Concept2 if required. Both come with a floor stand, allowing the option to move the machine around your gym space. Features are listed under both models but include access to Kinomap apps, Bluetooth smart wireless receiver and adjustable resistance. Unsure of which one to choose?
