The Star Trac 10 Series TRx FreeRunner may very well become ubiquitous in gyms up and down the UK in the near future. With it's aluminium running deck and HexDex technology, Star Trac have set out to create a treadmill that may be about as comfortable as it comes for an indoor running machine.

Star Trac have a patent-pending on their HexDex and specifically on the hexagonal suspension they use to provide the cushioning for the running deck. With the 10 Series TRx FreeRunner the HexDex allows the running deck to absorb energy and provide a responsiveness that has not been seen on traditional treadmills.

Independent Study

A recent study by the California State University at Fullerton pitched the Star Trac FreeRunner directly against a traditional treadmill. This independent study showed that 3 out of 4 participants chose the FreeRunner when asked which was the more comfortable running machine.

When they analysed and measured the participants, they also found a lower impact and more shock absorption on the FreeRunner. This is down to the patent-pending HexDex running deck that ensures softer foot plant and less impact on feet and leg joints. This also means quicker recovery times and less chances of longering pain.
