ORIGIN PILATES STUDIO, WALTON-ON-THAMES
- CASE STUDY -
Kultivate Coaching wanted to set up a new Pilates studio in Walton on Thames, Surrey offering a range of Reformer bed classes, Pilates studio work and barre exercises. The existing studio was an empty two floor unit. New cushioned flooring, mirrors and all Pilates equipment and Barre was required. The overall look desired was a stylish, soft, wooden 'Scandi look'.
THE PROCESS
GymEquipment.co.uk were asked to create floor plans and layouts to help Origin Pilates maximise their new Pilates studio. Working through the a maximum number and optimum layout for the Pilates reformer beds, there was also the mat studio and Barre to consider. GymEquipment.co.uk were instrumental in the collaborative organisation and selection of design and layouts, suitable flooring and installation and of course the choice of Pilates reformer.
GymEquipment .co.uk sourced and project-managed the flooring installation, including a full screed, underlay and then wood-effect rolled LVT, installation of Barre and mirrors and then installation of the reformers themselves. This was all achieved in conjunction with the client and client builders.

CHOICES
Choosing the right gym and studio flooring was key to the look and feel of this project. The client needed the wood effect but with the practicality of easy maintenance and cleaning. The client also wanted that comfortable 'give' that you get from a studio floor to encourage the "no shoes" approach to the studio.
Balancing this need with the 75kg reformers and studio use was easy thanks to a two-layered bonded flooring solution that not only provided reduced noise and vibration but also provided an insulating effect from the solid subfloor. Aesthetically the Pilates space looks inviting, professional and contemporary.

THE OUTCOME
Delivered on time and on budget, the flooring took 6 days to professionally install and lay perfectly. The 'chalk white' MOTU reformers were all delivered and assembled in a single day along with a range of pilates and studio accessories.
With the frosted glass frontage, the new Origin Pilates Studio in Walton on Thames, has a real wow factor on the High Street and is already proving to be incredibly popular with full classes every day.
