HOME GYM DESIGN - CARDIFF
Following a garden room new build, we were contacted in April to help create the ideal gym space and garden room gym. This was to be both contemporary and functional - with strength equipment and also space for stretching and Yoga. With wood-styled accents on the gym equipment to convey the contemporary feel, our solution included NOHRD's folding squat racks to maximise space, but also to make use of a narrower 5 foot Olympic bar. With limited width, but plates, bars, wall bars and squat rack ti fit in, this was a tricky one to maximise the client's wishes.

THE EQUIPMENT
Given a tight space, the mix of equipment and the need to keep it contemporary and clean we chose the following equipment that we knew woudl fit the brief:
NOHRD Folding Squat Rack - Ability to narrow the uprights to use a 5ft bar to maximise width restrictions
NOHRD 10 Wall Bars with NOHRD Multi Adapter Arms - Perfect to increase strength and functional exercises - space saving too. Oak finish chosen.
UK Supreme Fitness Storage Rack - Clean black steel frame with shelves and ball rack on top.
Exigo Vertical Wall Gun Rack (3 Bar) - Again maximises space - can take 3 Olympic bars no problem what length.
5ft Steel Series Straight Olympic Bar with Bearings - Perfect to maximise the width of the room and make adding/removing plates easier.
25mm Premium Rubber Floor Tile with Grey Fleck - Easy to lay and looks great even after use.
Exigo 3 Horn Wall Plate Storage
For the flooring, we opted for a 20mm thick rubber tile which is a multi-purpose floor and suitable for placing machines on and moderate free weight use. The tiles do not require gluing which is a big advantage for schools as individual tiles can be replaced if damaged, plus there is flexibility to uplift the whole floor more easily at any point if required.
"“The gym has been very well received by both staff and pupils. Will and Russ were approachable, responded quickly to any queries from the school and provided the expert knowledge and advice we required for this challenging project."
