Studio Flooring

Whether your need is for yoga, Pilates, or boxing then there will be a Gerflor Taraflex range to suit you.  All are non-slip, easy to clean and maintain and will protect users from injury. Taraflex Recreation is a great choice for infant and junior schools, or for light leisure. It provides a quiet surface; it cushions and protects and is very hygienic as it has bacteriostatic and fungistatic treatment. It has three layers, the PUR protect surface, then 100% PVC layer and a bottom layer of closed cell foam.

Taraflex Comfort offers the highest comfort and shock absorption. Point elastic sports flooring classifies shock absorbency as either P1, P2 or P3, with P3 offering the highest level of shock absorbency. The P3 category given top Comfort means it will drastically help to reduce injuries. The Comfort range has 6 levels in its construction, the top layer is the triple action Protecsol Surface Treatment, the bottom layer Polyolefin foam. This is a great choice for school or college gym floors.

Finally, the Taraflex Multi Use is great for floor-based classes and will also cope with light equipment like a spinning bike or rower. It will withstand machine marks and offers 25-35% shock absorption (P1 shock absorption). It is suitable for all sports, offers great friction protection and is easy to clean and maintain. A great multipurpose sports floor.

Functional Fitness

Here you can choose from 4 different Taraflex offerings-Recreation, Surface, Evolution and Performance. Taraflex Surface is suitable for rolling sports. Taraflex Evolution offers greater shock absorption and is good for a variety of sports and leisure, particularly activities where there is impact and a risk of falling. In addition Evolution is available with the Dry-Tex solution, if your sub floors are showing any signs of damp. Taraflex Performance is used in a wide range of sports, in schools and in sporting events. It is available in vibrant designs, and the Triple Action Protecsol surface layer means it is easy to clean, is friction protected and offers the highest levels of shock absorption, level P3-35-45%.

Free Weights

Gerflor offer several flooring options that will cope with the needs of heavy weights. The Powershock 80 is an easy to install interlocking solution that is highly resistant to static loads. It has a non-porous wear layer which means it is impermeable with no sweat retention. GTI Max is a vinyl flooring offering which is very hardwearing so is great in areas of heavy traffic. The interlocking tiles means that individual tiles can be easily replaced. With a 2mm surface they are hardwearing and very resistant. Minimal sub floor prep is required so they are very quick to install.

The Powershock 300 is made from vulcanised rubber which is also great for free weight areas. It can cope with weights being dropped, offers sound insulation of 24db, and will protect your subfloor as well.

Cardio Zone

Gerflor cardio zone flooring is designed to withstand the pressure of large numbers of cardio machines. The Creation 70 is a luxury vinyl tile that comes in a wood or mineral design and is great for high traffic areas. It can be laid quickly due to the interlocking tile format and can also be laid over most existing surfaces. The top layer is PUR, then a transparent 0.7mm wear layer, then a compact wear layer reinforced with a glass fibre grid.

The other Gerflor flooring recommended for cardio areas is the GTI Max which we have already mentioned as also suitable for free weights. Its top layer PUR, reinforced PVC wear layer and glass fibre grid make it a hard-wearing solution for heavy use cardio areas.

Gerflor can also provide flooring for other areas of your gym including shower areas and reception. For shower areas and changing rooms then the Tarasafe Ultra H20 Vinyl floor provides a hygienic floor that is nonslip.
