Strength Bars

Owning a few physical strength bars is great if you like Pump, Circuits or other similar fitness classes. They are available in a range of sizes from 2kg up to 7kg and can be bought as a pack of varied weight, which includes a stand. Being a fixed weight makes them a lot safer for studio classes and as you can buy various weights you can choose your target weight. They are not overly expensive and are a lot more convenient than having a bar with loose weights, especially in a home gym. Read more...

WHAT GYM EQUIPMENT IS SELLING

From cardio or strength, to aerobic fitness or gym workouts, these are the products that are selling right now.

Strength Bars

A strength bar, or weighted exercise bar, as you will also see them called, is an exercise bar which provides a controlled weight workout. It is a padded free weight bar that can be used in group or individual exercise. Many brands are colour coded so you can immediately see how heavy the weight is. The individual bars come in a range of different weights of 4, 6,9,12,15,18,22 and 27 IL bars.

What Can I Use a Weighted Exercise Bar For?

Strength bars are essentially 4 foot long bars used in weight training, balance, flexibility and core stabilization work. They are also used widely in yoga and Pilate.

Differences Between Barbells and Strength Bars?

The strength bar is essentially a weighted workout bar so no need to adjust any plates, collars etc, it’s all pre loaded. So, you don’t have to add or remove weight plates, you simply pick out the weight you want and get working out. The weight in a strength bar is also evenly distributed across the whole of the bar. They also come with a high density rubberised foam padding throughout the length of the bar making it easier to grip.

Another benefit of the weighted bar is that it is slim and fairly svelte in appearance so is a good buy if you have little space for weight equipment in your home gym.

What Exercise Benefits Do They Give?

You can get strength training from a range of equipment including calisthenics, free weights, machines and other type of equipment. Strength bars used as part of a strength training workout will ultimately give you better muscle strength, weight loss, protection against injury and healthy bones.

What Exercises Can I Do With a Weighted Bar?

The answer is virtually anything! From presses, rows and curls, to dead lifts and leg lifts you can work it into almost everything you do. Abdominal crunches can also be made harder by holding the weighted bar behind your neck. Bend your knees, crunch up your abs and lift your head and shoulders (and bar) off the ground. You will get a much better ab crunch this way but do remember to keep your lower back on the floor.
